Records note the immigration of someone named Alexander Freudenthal to Germany from Belgium around 1844. He lived in Magdegurg, Germany and the vicinity on and off from at least 1845 to 1865 and it's probable he lived there until his death. His portrait, included with this memorial, was taken after 1884. No records of his death have been found.

Family history notes he had 9 children by two wives.
With his first wife Johanne nee Philipp he had 5 children: 3 unknown, Bernhard (~1837-? ) and Henriette (Freudenthal) Frankel (1841–1908). With his second wife, Jeanette nee Hartmann, he had 4 children: Rosa (Freudenthal) Monnish (1849-1909), Benno (1850-1912), Emilius (1851-1905), and Charles Louis (1853-1939).

Family history notes his son Louis was born in Belgium, yet that seems to apply to Alex and not Louis. Published advertisements from the mid-1850s and later show Alexander distilled and sold boonekamp (stomach bitters). His eldest child was born ~1837, and his firs wife was born about 1810, so it seems he was probably born around 1810.
