Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today at Collier-Butler Funeral Home for Mildred Payne Singleton, 94, Gadsden, who passed away Thursday, Nov. 25, 2010. The Rev. Bill Harbison will officiate with burial in Crestwood Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.
Mildred was born in Cherokee County on Jan. 29, 1916. She lived most of her life in Gadsden and was a longtime member of East Gadsden Baptist Church. She loved the Lord, her family and friends. She will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband, Grady H. Singleton.
Survivors include her children, Millie Singleton Garmon, Gary Singleton, Richard Singleton and Sheryle Singleton Prichett; sister, Sarah Snead; numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to East Gadsden Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
