Juan S Martinez was born on 8 March 1883 in Tucson, (Pima Co.) Arizona to Lupe and Merced (Sanchez) Martinez.

On 18 June 1938, Juan was united in marriage to Minnie Norman in Los Angeles, (Los Angeles Co.) California. She was the daughter of Thomas Hill "Tom" and Hester A "Hattie" or "Hettie" (Sutterfield) Norman. According to their marriage certificate, this was a second marriage for him--he was previously divorced--and a first for her--though I personally believe this was also a second marriage for her. No (known) children were born to their union.

Juan and Minnie lived in Los Angeles their entire marriage--it appears they never left N. Bonnie Beach Place despite having several addresses there.

Just before their 9th wedding anniversary, Juan suddenly passed away on 25 May 1947 at the Los Angeles County General Hospital. He was susequently laid to rest in the Calvary Cemetery in Los Angeles, (Los Angeles Co.) California on 28 May 1947.

****NOTE: I've attempted to contact the cemetery office numerous times for plot information and have never heard back from them. It is unclear where in the cemetery he is buried in (at this time).
