William Carveth, 81, of Washington R.D. 1, died Tuesday, January 5, 1982, at 10:15 p.m. in his home.

He was born August 8, 1900, in Roscroggan, Camborne, Cornwall, England, a son of William and Bessie Kendall Carveth.

At the time of his death, Mr. Carveth was a member of the Chartiers Crossroads United Presbyterian Church. He was formerly a member of the McMasters Methodist Church of Turtle Creek for 53 years. He taught Sunday school and was active in church affairs for as long as his health permitted, and he was a member of the choir of both churches.

Mr. Carveth was employed as a machinist for Westinghouse at the East Pittsburgh plant, retiring in 1965. He lived in Monroeville before moving to Washington, where he resided the past three and one-half years.

In 1928, he married Thetis Morrish of England, who died in August 1977. On August 26, 1978, he married Helen Mossburg Earliwine Carveth, who survives.

Also surviving are one step-son, five step-daughters, one brother, both of Camborne, Cornwall, England; 20 step-grandchildren; three step-great-granddaughters and one nephew.

Deceased are two sisters and seven brothers.
