S/Sgt. Jack Levy served in World War II, first as a tank driver, next a loader, then gunner, and lastly as the tank commander of a M4A3E8 "Easy Eight" Sherman Tank, in the 35th Armored Battalion, 4th Armored Division, of the U.S. Army in the European Theater of Operations. After the war, he married Eleanor (née Braun) Levy in 1947 in Detroit, Michigan. They had 3 children and 7 grandchildren and 3 great grand children. His father was Max Levy born 1881 in Connecticut. and died in 1954 in Michigan. His mother was Margaret (née Gray) Levy born in 1882 in Connecticut, and died in 1955 in Michigan. His wife Eleanor passed away August 19th 2017 in Michigan. (bio by Jay Lance)
