Marie Acampora Tizio,at the age of 89.
She was the daughter of the late Ernest and Stella Kerr Acampora.

On January 8, 1944, Marie married her one and only love, a young sailor named Bart Tizio.
They met when she was 8 years old and were together ever since, having celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary earlier this month.
Together they spent the war years on Navy bases in Memphis, TN and New Orleans, LA.

Marie is survived by her loving husband Bart, three children, Barbara August of Staten Island, NY, Jane Tizio of Winchester, VA, and Bart Tizio and his wife, Debbie of Allentown, PA;
seven grandchildren, Mark, Kristin, Bart Michael, Megan, Amanda, Hannah and Samantha;
three great grandchildren, Claire, Bartolo, and William. Marie was blessed with an extended family,
Denise, Brian, Rockelle, Michael, Chloe, Donovan and MarLee, who were as precious to her as her own.

Upon moving to Winchester in 1964, Marie quickly became an active member of the community. She belonged to the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church and was Past President of the Parish Council of Catholic Women. She was on the steering Committee of Big Brother/ Big Sisters. Marie was a member of the hospital Auxiliary for 40 years and she volunteered in the Medical Center's Auxiliary gift shop.

Marie participated and acted in the hospital Follies for 34 years.
She was a lifetime member of the Winchester Little Theatre, where she acted in many plays.

She was an educator at Senseny Road Elementary School for 22 years, winning many awards, including FCEA Person of the Year in 1988-89.

She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

" Here is my parent's, Marie and Bart's headstone. Jane and I designed and drew it out. A wonderful stone mason created it for us. My dad's parting date has since been added. Notice the two falling leaves which are now free to blow in the wind." From Daughter Barbara .....
