Oscar “Towney” Summers 88 of Providence passed away September 1, 2017, in Paducah, KY. He was the son of the late Oscar & Bertha Summers and precede in death by his wife Ruth (Gregory) Summers. He is survived by a daughter Sharon Gillahan (Bill), granddaughter Shara (McDowell) Metcalf (John), 2 great granddaughters and 6 great gr eat grandchildren. Oscar was a devoted longtime member of 2nd Baptist Church of Providence & a retired KY Mine Inspector. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM on Tuesday in the Chapel of Jones Kirby Funeral Home and also 9 to 11 AM at 2nd Baptist Church of Providence with Services at 11 with Bro. Laddie Pride & Bro. Ralph Alexander officiating with burial to follow in Shady Grove Cemetery. Jones Kirby Funeral Home are in Charge of arrangements.
