CONCETTA "CONNIE" FORTE EAST CHICAGO, IN Concetta "Connie" Forte, age 91, born October 13, 1916 in Sinagra, Italy. Preceded in death by her husband Daniel; her brother Rosario Civa. She passed away Thursday, December 27, 2007 at St. Anthony Hospital, Crown Point, surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by daughter Carmela Theresa (Michael) Rowe of Griffith; grandson Michael Patrick (Kerri) Rowe of Highland, one sister Angelina Ferraloro of Perth, Western Australia; one brother Giuseppe (Maria) Civa of Messina Italy; one sister-in-law Angelina Civa of Ficarra Italy; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 5, 2008, 9:30 a.m. at Kuiper Funeral Home follow by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. James Catholic Church with Rev. Keith Virus officiating. Burial at Catholic Cemeteries. Friends may visit with the family on Friday, January 4, 2008 from 2-8 p.m. with a 2:30 p.m. prayer service, at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Rd. (two blocks south of Ridge Rd), Highland, IN. Concetta was a long time resident of East Chicago, IN for over 60 years. She lived with her daughter Carmela and son-in-law Mike for 2.5 years. She spent her last year in St. Anthony Nursing Home in Crown Point. She was a longtime member of Immaculate Conception Church and currently of St. James Catholic Church, also a member of The Italian American Women's Club, the Golden Agers and Alliance Day Care Center. Connie enjoyed cooking and being a great homemaker for her family. She was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed.
