Palmer, Sept 14 -- James A. Hoey of 46 Thorndike St., Palmer, Ma died early friday morning in his home after a lingering illness. He was born in Woonsocket, R.I. son of James and Bridget (Kelly) Hoey and lived here 23 years. Prior to that he resided in Worcester. He was employed by the Boston and Albany Railroad, retiring in 1950 after 54 years of service as a passenger conductor. He recieved his gold pass from the railroad in 1946. He leaves two daughters, Gladys R. Hoey of Worcester, and Mrs. john O'Brien of Palmer, a brother Charles of Providence, R.I., and three grandchildren. Funeral will be conducted at his home monday at 8:15 followed by a solemn high mass of requiem in St. Thomas the Apostle Church at 9. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery Worcester. Friends may call Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10. Palmer Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
