MRS. ZACHERL DIES AT 84 AFTER ILLNESS
Mrs. Ida E. Zacherl, 84, of 53 E. Johnson St., who has been associated with Zacherl Funeral Home since her marriage, died at 11:45 p.m. Wednesday at St. Agnes Hospital after a two-day illness.She was born in Fond du Lac on May 8, 1886, a daughter of Frederick and Mina Lange Kobs. She was married to George H. Zacherl on April 17, 1911, at St. Mary’s Church.Mrs. Zacherl was one of the first women licensed to be a mortician in Wisconsin. She took over management of the funeral home after the death of her husband.She was a member of St. Mary’s Church, the Altar Society, Daughters of Isabella, St. Agnes Hospital Auxiliary, Fond du Lac Woman’s Club, Academy Club, a charter member of Fond du Lac Altrusa Club, member of Royal Neighbors, the Fox Valley, Wisconsin and National Funeral Directors Association, Women’s Catholic Order of Foresters and South Hills Country Club.Mrs. Zacherl and the late Miss Pat Treleven were developers of Mary Hill Park.Surviving are one son, Louis G. Zacherl of Mary Hill Park; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Andrew D. Agnew of Whitefish Bay and Miss Elsie Kobs of Milwaukee.She was preceded in death by her husband on Aug. 26, 1930, one daughter, Mrs. Alice Toland, one sister and five brothers.Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home and at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church with the Rev. John H. Goebel officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.Friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Members of the Altar Society and Daughters of Isabella attended in a body.Pallbearers were Dr. Lawrence J. Keenan, Dr. Norman O. Becker, Robert G. Heath, Wilfred O. Meyer, John M. Korb and Roger l.
