Jordan was a member, deacon, and clerk of the Boyd's Creek Baptist Church. He attended several of the associational meetings per the church minutes.
In 1864, 65, 66, and 67, he paid taxes on 160 acres Dist 9 (Boyd's Creek). This was his father John's 160 acre plot at present-day Gibson Circle and Boyd's Creek Highway. The original arrow-shaped fence lines still stand in 2017. The land was subdivided and developed around 2006.
