He got his start in acting in 1949 when he appeared on the television series "Colgate Theatre". He would go to appear on such television series as "Goodyear Playhouse", "Peter Gunn", "Mission: Impossible", "Dragnet 1967", "Ironside", "Monty Nash", "Mannix", "Police Story", "The Six Million Dollar Man", "Kojak", "Quincy M.E.", "Santa Barbara", "Law & Order", and "Girls". He also made numerous film appearances during his career with such credits as "Johnny Got His Gun" (1971), "Invasion of the Bee Girls" (1973), "The Competition" (1980), "The Beastmaster" (1982), "Jagged Edge" (1985), "Mannequin" (1987), "Survival Quest" (1988), "Sleepers" (1996), and "The Comedian" (2016). After making his Broadway stage debut in the 1956 production "The Great Sebastians", he went on to have a distinguished and lengthy stage career. He was still acting at the time of his passing.
