JAMES E. GWINN

James Enos Gwinn, 81, of Princeton died Sunday morning at his residence following a long illness.

He was a retired conductor on the Virginian Railway and had been a resident of Princeton since 1909.

He was born at Meadow Creek, a son of the late Charles E. and Ellen O'Leary Gwinn.

He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Princeton and a member of the Princeton Elks Lodge No. 1459.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Virgie Richmond Gwinn of the home; five daughters, Mrs. Garnet Moore of Princeton, Eva Gwinn of Princeton, Mrs. Mildred Bishop of Princeton, Mrs. Gladys Powell of Roanoke, Va., Mrs. Alfreda McCoy of Charleston; one son, James Gordon Gwinn of Lexington, Ky.; one brother, Robert Gwinn of Meadow Creek; one sister, Mrs. Anna Ferral of Columbus, Ohio; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive.

Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 10 p.m. today at Sacred Heart Catholic church in Princeton with Father Patrick Managan O.M.I. Burial will follow in Resthaven Cemetery in Princeton.

The body is at Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton.
