Born in Texas, he was the son of Sebe W and Florence Joplin. Mr. Joplin moved to Arizona 11 years ago from Texas, where he was a manager superintendent in the oil industry. He retired in 1976. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy East Joplin, a daughter Laura Lee Pelley of Brentwood, Texas, a son Michael of Tucson; a sister Margaret White of Meadowbrook, PA., and two grandchildren.
