Joel J. Settersten, 83, was born into eternal life on October 2, 2017 (which was his mother’s birthday). Joel met the love of his life, Rosalie, at the ice rink, and they enjoyed skating duets for many years in the M&M Figure Skating Club. Joel served two years in the Army. He enjoyed cross-country motorcycling, boating, sailing, kayaking, and anything else that involved his family. He worked at Scott Paper Company, now called Kimberly Clark, for 37 ½ years. He was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church and a member of The American Legion. Joel is survived by his wife, Rosalie, of 60 years; daughter, Deborah (Arthur) Babcock; son, Craig (Laurie) Settersten; daughters: Pamela (John) Linstad, Kolleen (Randy) Pecard, and Amy (Andrew) Linstad; 24 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by brothers: Gary (Patricia) Settersten, Tyrone (Amber) Settersten, and Richard (Diann) Settersten; a sister, Juanita (William) McCormick; and a brother-in-law, Ronald Fischer. Joel was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Sylvia Fischer; and a brother, Bradley Settersten. Celebration of Life will be held at Zion Lutheran Church in Marinette on Saturday, October 7, 2017, with visitation from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. A service will be held at 11 a.m. in the church, with a luncheon to follow.
