Painter, Print Maker. His early work was greatly inspired by William Blake and he later became a member of the Blake-influenced group known as The Ancients. He was born in Appledore, Devon and studied at the Royal Academy. Among his finest works are exquisite wood engravings and etchings which date from the 1820s and early 1830s. His later works included Classical subjects.
