Erial E. Butler Corbin Slater, age 87, of The Kingston of Marion, died at 6:50 a.m. Sunday, March 25, 2007, at The Kingston.

She was born July 6, 1919, in New Bloomington, the daughter of the late John Lawrence and Blanche Pearl Johnston Butler.

Twice married, she first married Harry Jack Corbin on Dec. 7, 1936, in Ironton, and he preceded her in death Dec. 9, 1972, in Florida. She married Berlin Slater in May 1977 he preceded her in death in October 1997.

A homemaker, she worked at Klines Department Store, Frank Brothers and Sammilsons and was also one of Marion's first female gas station attendants.
She was a member of The Kingston Red Hats, former Mark Street School PTA, Emanuel Baptist Church, attended Emanuel Lutheran Church and a Lutheran church in Marysville. Erial was a very loving and giving person.

She is survived by three daughters, Kathy (Roger) Edwards, Marion, Nancy (Dan) McCormick, Rodchester, N.Y., Joyce (Gene) Lehner, Marion; two sons, Jack (Lucille) Corbin, Sommerset, Ky., Richard Corbin, Edison; 18 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Missy Molly.

She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Corbin; a daughter, Barbara "B.J." White; a brother, Lowell Butler; two sisters, Mary Nicolosi, Gloria Lombardo; and one grandchild.
