Sports Broadcaster. Born in Richmond, Virginia, he was best known as the play-by-play man for the Minnesota Twins on radio broadcasts since 1962. Carneal was presented with the Ford C. Frick award, during the Baseball Hall of Fame Ceremonies, in 1996. Prior to working for the Twins, he called games for the Baltimore Orioles from 1957 to 1961. He died of congestive heart failure.
