Ruth May Miller, 91, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died April 7, 2018 in Gothenburg, NE.

She was born October 28, 1926 in Farnam, NE, daughter of Earl and May (Murray) Smallfoot.

Ruth grew up in Gothenburg and graduated from Gothenburg High with the class of 1945. She married Earl Miller on May 16, 1947 at Lexington, NE and they moved to a farm north of Gothenburg. Ruth was a busy farm wife and mother; raising their four children - Diane, Sally, Jerry and Kenneth. After many years on the farm, they retired to Gothenburg in 1982. Earl passed away just 3 days after their 58th wedding anniversary. Ruth was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church. She spent many hours quilting and baking. She loved to read and care for her grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughter, Sally (Allen) Anderson of Norfolk, NE; two sons, Jerry Miller of Cozad, Kenneth (Mary) Miller of Lincoln, NE; two sister-in-laws, Donna Miller, Marie Miller; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grand children; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Ruth was preceded in death by husband, Earl Miller, daughter, Diane Janssen, her parents, Earl and May Smallfoot, aunt, Edna Peterson, brothers-in-law, Anton Miller and George Miller, Jr., brothers, Dale and Dean Smallfoot, sister, Ruby Fox, sister-in-law, Donna Miller, daughter-in-law, Annette Miller, granddaughter, Tami Renee.

Funeral services will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, 77191 Highway 47, Gothenburg, NE, on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at 10:30 am with Pastor Carol Mapa officiating.
Interment will follow in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Gothenburg, Nebraska. Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
