Death Of Mrs. Bowne. She Passed Away Suddenly At Her Home. Her Death Was Caused by Apoplexy and She Was Sick Only a Few Hours - Daughter of Rev. William V. Wilson. Mrs. Mary A. Bowne, wife of Capt. George A. Bowne of Port Monmouth, died suddenly from apoplexy last Friday morning at her home. When she arose that morning she appeared to be as well is usual and after breakfast began to get a lot of pineapples ready for canning. While she was engaged in that work she was taken sick and in a few hours expired. She had had two previous attacks of apoplexy, but they were several years apart. Mrs. Bowne was a daughter of Rev. William V. Wilson of New Monmouth and was 63 years old. A good many years of her life were spent at Middletown village, where Captain Bowne has a farm. Her sister is the widow of Capt. Benjamin Griggs of Port Monmouth, and after Captain Griggs's death Captain Bowne went to Port Monmouth to take charge of the Griggs place. Besides a sister and husband Mrs. Bowne leaves two daughters, Mrs. David Wyckoff and Miss Jessie Bowne, both of whom live at home. The funeral was held on Sunday afternoon at the house and the service was in charge of Rev. Horace R. Goodchild, pastor of the Middletown Baptist church of which Mrs. Bowne was a member. The body was buried in Fair View cemetery.
