Erected in the mid 1930s in the annex section of Langemark German Military Cemetery, Belgium, the monument is dedicated to the nearly 3000 World War I student volunteers who died in the Battle of Langemark in October and November 1914. The memorial which became known as the Student Cemetery, includes four bronze student statues and list the names of the German students.
