Hall of Fame Professional Hockey Player. Born in Belleville, Ontario, he played for the Montreal Victorias from 1894 to 1902 in the position of center in the MHL-SR. and MNWHL hockey leagues. Bain was often referred to as Manitoba's greatest athlete of all-time, he won significant championships over a span of more than 35 years. He won the Manitoba three-mile roller skating title, he was a champion gymnast of Winnipeg and the one-mile bicycle racing champion for three years between 1894-96. He won the Canadian trap-shooting title in Toronto. He also won championships in speed-skating, figure skating, roller skating, snow-shoeing, lacrosse and golf. He scored the first Stanley Cup winning goal scored in overtime. He won the Stanley Cup in 1896 and 1902, and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1945 as a Player.
