Noah Flood Parks was a brother to my great grandfather. They were orphaned in April 1864 in War torn area of Chariton County, Missouri. Noah is enumerated in the 1870 Chariton County Missouri census with his guardian Charles Bingley Harris. Charles father Monroe Harris was also an early settler of Chariton County. I believe Noah was clothed, fed, schooled, learned discipline, integrity, and learned a trade by hard work and grit, was kind, gentle and new a certain amount of Love. I believe that he may have had a rough childhood, but grew into a strong soul. From what I can tell that strength of character was passed down through the genes.
Noah left for Texas somewhere around 1880. Soon after he turned of age or slightly before he turned 18. He does not appear in the 1880 Chariton County Census, he would have been about 22 years of age. I can not find him in Texas Census either. Census does not give me enough information to prove it is our Noah Flood Parks.
I have a picture of him that he sent to Columbus taken at or by a studio in Cleburne Johnson County Texas. I do not think he ever lived there. I think he was at some county fair and the photographer is from Celburne Texas.
Per "Uncle Roy" Noah and his wife, Mattie lived in Nevada, Texas. A small town in Collin County Texas northeast of Dallas.
Collin County Texas is where Will and Willie Ann Parks married and settled.
Mattie was in Rockwall County Texas in 1880 married, and from 1900 Maricopa County Arizona census they married approximately in 1893. Jesse Polly Lancaster was the last child with George Wilson and he was born in 1889. I am unable to find out exactly when George Wilson died. Take in consideration it was tradition to marry in the county of the bride, then I believe the marriage took place in Rockwall County Texas.
Daisy Omelia Parks was born in 1894 Arizona. Sometime between 1890 and 1894 Noah and Mattie were married and
made their way to Arizona. Between 1900 and 1910 they moved onto California. Noah's obit reads he came to California 40 years ago, therefore he was in Imperial County California approximately in 1902.
