Loop Lawyer Charles J. Calderini, 80

Private graveside services will be held Sunday in Galena for Charles J. Calderini, a former senior managing partner of the Loop law firm of Winston and Strawn.

Mr. Calderini, who turned 80 last Wednesday, died Friday at his home in Galena.

He was born in Chicago and earned his law degree at De Paul University. He took advanced studies at the University of Michigan Law School and was a member of the Chicago, Illinois and American Bar Associations for more than 50 years.

Mr. Calderini began his career in 1921 in the firm`s law library and was a partner at the firm from 1941 to 1978, when he retired. He was a senior managing partner at the firm from 1952 to 1972.

He was on the board of directors of Scot Lad Foods, Stewart Warner Corp., Hubinger Co. and the Drake Hotel. He also was a member of the lawyers advisory council of Corn Products Industry.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Lee; a son, Charles J. Jr.; a daughter, Marilyn Norehad; a sister, Marietta Marshall; and six grandchildren.
