MRS. AKERILL DIES NOV. 23

Annie Viola May Strutt was born in Ontario, Canada, October 11, 1883 and passed away November 23, 1961 at White Salmon, Wash.
She was united in marriage to Parley Akerill January 4, 1905 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. To this union five children were born. Parley preceded his wife in death in 1957. One son, Harry preceded his mother in death in 1930.
She came to Portland, Ore., in 1907 and to Klickitat County in 1908. In 1933, she moved to Glenwood where she resided until her death.
Those left to mourn her passing are two daughters: Mrs. Lucille Ward, Mrs. Betty Hettrick, both of Glenwood. Two sons: Merle of Glenwood and Milton of Yakima. One sister, Mrs. Predetta Van Wagner of Rochester, Michigan. One brother, Wesley Strutt of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, also numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

DEATH SUMMONS ANNIE AKERILL

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28 at Gardners Chapel, White Salmon, for Mrs. Annie (Viola May) Akerill, 78 of Glenwood. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Appleton.
The Rev. Shellbach of Clatskanie, Oregon officiated at Mrs. Akerill's funeral. Casket bearers were: Lee Conboy, Scott Miller, Oliver Kreps, Howard Murray, Frank Leaton and Osmar Kuhnhausen.
Anna Strutt was born on Oct. 11, 1883 in Ontario, Canada. She was married to the late Parley Akerill at Edmonton, Canada on Jan. 4, 1905. Mr. Akerill died on Sept. 15, 1957.
In 1907 Mr. and Mrs. Akerill moved to Portland, Oregon, and in 1908 to Appleton where he worked in a sawmill for four years before buying an orchard.
In 1923 they moved to Camp Seven, near Liberty Bond where Mr. Akerill was employed laying steel for J. Neils' railroad. In 1933 the Akerills moved to Glenwood.
Mrs. Akerill was a member of the Camas Prairie Pioneer's Association and Royal Neighbors of America Lodge. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. R.S. (Lucile) Ward and Mrs. George (Betty) Hettrick, both of Glenwood; two sons, Merle of Glenwood and Milton of Yakima.
Also a sister, Mrs. Predetta VanWagner of Rochester, Mich., brother Wesley Strutt of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; 12 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
