She was the daughter of John H. Stephens and Margaret Bounds Stephens and the wife of Eddie Simpson Harrington. She was the mother of Sadie Frances Harrington Arnette and Louise Harrington Marsh.

She planted camellias in the front yard of the E. W. Arnette home and they still survive today.

Mrs. Bessie Harrington

Dillon - Mrs. Bessie Stephens Harrington, 73, died Monday in a local hospital.

Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Willie Arnette of Dillon and Mrs. Leonard Marsh of Columbia; one brother, J. L. Stephens of Fayetteville, and one sister, Mrs. J. W. McDaniel of Bennettsville.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the Second Baptist Church of Dillon by the Rev. Curtis McKenzie, with burial in Beaver Dam Cemetery, McColl.
