Richard Watson Baker died June 13, 2007 at Ruth Lilly Hospice, Yellow Rose Unit, Indianapolis, Indiana. He was 71.

He was a graduate of Spencer High School of 1954 of Indiana Mortuary School in 1955.

During his lifetime, Richard worked for Reed Funeral Home in Columbus; Prudential Life Insurance Company in Columbus, Bloomington, and Kokomo; Bloomington Police Department; Peacock Funeral Home in Kokomo; Underwood Distributing in Indianapolis; and ITT Technical Institute in Indianapolis. During his 18 years career at ITT, Richard was a Senior Recruiter and was honored as Top Producer and Employee of the Year for several years. He retired from ITT in 1991.

He was a member of Avon United Methodist Church, the Bloomington Fraternal Order of Police, St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Kokomo and St. Paul United Methodist Church in Bloomington.

Richard is survived by his wife of 35 years, Patricia Ann Noel; children, Jeanette (Doug) Ramer, R. Scott (Linda) Buker, Meri Lyn (Steve) Bisch, Phillip (Becca) Lucas; one brother, Byron (Carolyn) Buker; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two nieces and one nephew.

He was preceded in death by father, Guy Watson Buker; mother, Dora Barnes Buker; and son, Eric Paul Buker.

Memorial contribution may be made to Ruth Lilly Hospice or Avon United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.

Funeral services were Friday, June 15th, at the Avon United Methodist Church.

Burial followed in Riverside Cemetery in Spencer, Indiana.
