SELIS - Catherine Ann (nee Burke), 75, of Clifton died on Friday, June 15, 2007. The funeral was held at the Lakeview Memorial Home, 371 Lakeview Ave., Clifton, on Tuesday at 9 a.m. Interment in Crest Haven Memorial Park. Visitation was Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
Born in Belleville to Agnes (nee Speary) & Edward Burke, Catherine lived in Nutley and Newark before moving to Clifton in 1980. From 1947 until 1955 she was an assembly worker for KENHUE PAPER & BOX CO. She was the owner of Cathy's Subs in Newark for eight years before retiring in 1980.
Married on Feb. 13, 1954 she was the beloved wife of Gerald; the devoted mother of Gary and his wife, Stephanie, of Pennsylvania, William of Clifton, and Thomas of Belleville, and loving grandmother of Nicholas of Jersey City.
