Mrs. Phillips, a homemaker, came to Odessa in 1973 from Marlow, Oklahoma. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Marlow.

Survivors include a daughter, Imogene Hammett of Odessa; 12 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; and 21 great great grandchildren.

PEARL CATHERN HOLT was the 3rd child born to Seburn Holt and Mary Ann Robinson Holt on 08 May 1894 in Myrtle, Oregon County, Missouri.

Pearl married ALONZO STUBBLEFIELD GOING 14 Jan 1912 in her parents home, Myrtle, Oregon County, Missouri. There were 4 children in this union:

1. Duel Glen Going, b. 1912
2. Charles Asro Going, b. 1915
3. Alonzo Seburn Going, b. 1918
4. Pearl Imogene Going, b. 1918

Alonzo lost his battle with Typhoid Fever on 01 Sep 1918 at the early age of 25 years, 8 months, 6 days and Pearl is forced to move on with her life, and the lives of her 4 children.

Realization ... Pearl is on her own, herself only being 24 years 3 months and 24 days old, as a new mother of 2 small sons and twins who are only 1 month and 26 days old. Pearl moves her family from Randolph County, Arkansas to Oklahoma where she has family and tries to maintain a productive home.

She meets and marries Arthur Bell Phillips on 18 Feb 1924 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma County, Oklahoma and together they have no children; but, raise the 3 children she had with Alonzo. Her oldest son, Duel Glen Going , didn't get along with Mr. Phillips and returned to Pocahontas, Randolph County, Arkansas, to live with his father's brother, Homer Asro Going.

Arthur lost his battle with cancer on May 27, 1945 in Wellston, Lincoln County, Oklahoma and once again Pearl deals with losing a husband to death.

She doesn't have to worry about her children because they are all married and starting families of their own, but "She" is alone, Again.

She married Mathias Templeton Farrell on 02 Mar 1946 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma County, Oklahoma, but that marriage ended in divorce 15 Dec 1947 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma County, Oklahoma. There were no children during this union.

She married William Suggs on 25 Oct 1949 in Gainesville, Cook County, Texas, but this marriage too ended in divorce 04 Mar 1962 in Lincoln County, Oklahoma. There were no children during this union.

It's a terrible thing for a mother to outlive her children and Pearl outlived all of her children except for the youngest twin who is still living.

She lost her 3rd child, 1st twin, Alonzo Seburn Going, on 23 Jul 1961 in Hobbs, Lea County, New Mexico from heart disease.

She lost her 1st child, Duel Glen Going, on 27 Oct 1969 in Jacksonville, Pulaski County, Arkansas from heart disease.

She lost her 2nd child, Charles Asro Going, on 07 Apr 1970 in Las Vegas, Clark County, Nevada as he was addressing a congregation of Welders at a Union Convention in Caesars Palace Hotel, from heart disease.

Pearl lived a long productive life. She went to her rest 10 May 1989 in Midland, Ector County, Texas from respiratory arrest, due to a hemorrhage, caused from leukemia.

Besides losing 2 husbands, 3 children, her mother and father, she was also preceded in death by all her siblings:

1. James Allen Holt
2. Gertrude Jane Holt King
3. Minerva "Nevey" Emiline Holt
4. Duvey Ethel Holt
5. Willie Elmer Holt
6. Charles Elvie Holt

Pearl is my Grandmother.
