Mrs. Brashear was a native of Steubenville, Ohio. Surviving are her husband, William Stanton Brashear; two daughters, Mrs. Witherspoon and Mrs. A.S. Hollomon, of Virginia Beach; one son, Maurice J. Brashear, of Hines, Ill.; four grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
The body was taken to H.D. Oliver's Funeral Apartments, 610-612 East Freemason street, pending funeral arrangements.

1870 census and the 1880 census as well as her marriage record in 1883 provide her name as Laura Ann Bair Bashear. In the 1910 census she appears to start using her middle name Anna. In the 1930 census she is living with her daughter Ethel and Ethel's husband Oscar O Witherspoon and lists her name as Laura.
