Gertrude McClelland was born September 20, 1891 in Bulloch County, Georgia the first of ten children of William Madison McClelland and Manie Veranda Glisson McClelland. She only lived a short time and is probably buried in one of the many unmarked graves in the large McClelland family plot at Old Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, near Ivanhoe (Briar Patch), Bulloch County, Georgia. Her heritage was Scots-Irish, Scots, English, German, and Native American. When their granddaughter Kathleen Bell Neely was born, Gertrude's parents were said to have remarked how much Kathleen looked like Gertrude. I hope one of her relatives will add her photo to this site.

Thanks so much to Gertrude's sister Nevada McClelland Bell for much of this information. Any errors, however, are mine alone. Please go to the "edit" link on this site with any corrections or additions.
