Charles E. Bilbrey of Owego, New York was actively involved in sports, clubs and student government and was a natural born leader. If there was anybody you wanted on your team it would be Charlie. He'd give you 100 percent on anything he ever did. His dream was to be an Army Ranger and joined the armed forces after graduating in 2005. The eldest of four children of Barbara and Charles Bilbrey Sr. and a former Boy Scout and youth church group member. He left a lasting legacy of patriotism, respect and leadership. He died in Saqlawiyah, Iraq of wounds sustained when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle at age 21.
