Evertt George Jones was born in Hunt City, IL, the second son of William Abraham and Rachel Rebecca (Cox) Jones. He had three brothers, Vernie Allen, Earl and Otto, and one sister Ida Mae Laws. He was a retired farmer, a member of Willow Hill United Methodist Church, Cooper Masonic Lodge 489, and an honorary member of Lawrenceville Masons Lodge. He married Mary Smith on October 27, 1915.
Evertt was the father of sons Wesley and Allen and daughter Lois Jourdan. He had 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
