He was also fourth in HR (17), tied for third in RBI (102), and second in slugging average (.531) that season. Rated by his Manager, Branch Rickey, as one of the best left fielders ever, McHenry had good speed, a strong arm, and hit for average and power. Diagnosed with a brain tumor, he tailed off to .303 in 64 games in 1922, his last season. He died that November. He accrued a liftime average of .302 with 34 HR's and 286 RBI's in 543 career games.
