Survived by wife of 64 years, Cecilia "Cele"(nee Tully); daughters: JoAnn Hatten and husband George, Susan Kasarda and husband Richard, daughter-in-law, Connie Seifert, son-in-law, Donald L. Fisher, twelve grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.

Member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Canyon Lake, Texas. Charter Member of St. Theresa's Catholic Church, Houston, Texas. Duke was a watchmaker for Sweeney Jewelers, downtown store, until his retirement. He attended George Washington Jr. High, Houston, and lived in Galveston for a few years in his youth. He learned his trade at a watchmaker's school in Illinois, where he met his future wife, Cele Bridget Tully.

Visitation and Rosary held on Wednesday, March 3, 1999 at Earthman Hunter's Creek Chapel, 8303 Katy Frwy. Funeral Mass held on Thursday, March 4, 1999 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 6622 Haskell, Rev. Benjamin Smaistria, celebrant. Rite of Committal and interment at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations may be made to Houston Hospice.
