**On 21 Sept 2013, in Westchester Station, Cumberland County, a gathering of more than 50 people remembered, with honour, the two young Canadian airmen, Flying Officer Donald Lloyd BREADNER and Flying Officer Kenneth Brian BENNETT of Operational Training Unit #7 in Debert, Nova Scotia, who had served and fallen during a gunnery training exercise which was preparing them for operational service in Europe. Attending this memorial service were two Air Cadet Squadrons, Pugwash Royal Canadian Legion Branch 60 members, four relatives of Donald Breadner, the Honourable John Buchanan of Nova Scotia, and many other interested attendees. Twenty of the attendees made the trek, through the trees and bush, to place a memorial plaque, and to perform a final salute, at the actual crash site.
