Vannis E. Bolin Ray, 82 of Decatur died 7:05 pm Tuesday Jan. 20, 2004 in Decatur Memorial hospital. Services will be 10 am Saturday in Dawson & Wikoff Colonial chapel North with visitation 6 to 8 pm Friday. Burial will be in Hammond.
Mrs. Ray was born Jan. 13,1922 in La Place, the daughter of Arthur and Myrtle Hendricks Alexander. She was a homemaker. She attended church of Christ.
She married Verlyn Bolin on Dec. 7, 1942. He preceded her in death in 1983. She married Louis Ray on Oct. 4,1986. He preceded her in death in 2001. Surviving are her daughter,Sue Chenoweth and husband Donald of Hammond,Son, James Bolin, stepdaughters,Elizabeth Hughes and husband Jim of Georgia,Shelly Camfield and husband Terry of Argenta, Grandchildren Rich Chenoweth,Robbie Chenoweth, and Letitia Chenoweth, step grandchildren,Deborah,Jimmie,Susie,Lynn and Chelsa. Great grandchildren,Chelsey,Cody,Kristin,Alex and Jack,Great stepgrandchildren,Karli,Stacey,Kacey and Alex, sister Ruby Ione Marshall of Bakersfield,Calif, brother Mervin Alexander and wife Barb of Bakersfield. She was preceded in death by her parents,first husband, second husband and one brother.
She was a very caring and loving woman who dearly loved her family and friends and will live in their hearts forever.
