He was the son of Harlan and Donna (Putnam) Lancaster. Andy graduated from Freeport Illinois high school in 2002 and married his high school sweetheart, Tabbatha Tillis, on December 19, 2004, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Stockton, Illinois. He was a born leader, motivated and energetic about what he did and what he believed in. He enlisted in the United States Army in response to the September 11 terrorist attacks on the United States. He completed basic training at Fort Benning, Georgia, received his airborne training in Georgia, was stationed in Italy with the 173rd Airborne Division, did a tour in Afghanistan, transferred to Fort Stewart, Georgia, with the 1st Battalion 30th Infantry and began his tour in Iraq on May 11, 2007. Andy enjoyed playing Xbox Live, playing with his dog, Sam, hunting, fishing and golfing. His passion for leadership will be his legacy. Andy really enjoyed the time he and his wife spent entertaining their military friends. His biggest joy in life was the time he spent with his wife. He is survived by his wife, Tabbatha Lancaster of Stockton; his mother, Donna (Steve) Vanderheyden of Stockton; his father, Harlan Lancaster of Freeport; a brother, Harley Lancaster of Stockton; two sisters, Jennica and Janessa Vanderheyden of German Valley; and his grandparents, David and Darlyne Putnam of Monroe, Wisconsin, Fritz (Alice Wand) Lancaster of Wiota, Wisconsin, and Jack and Laurrel Vanderheyden of Stockton. He also is survived by Tabbatha's family, her parents, Dean and Deb Tillis of Stockton; sister-in-law, Tara (Marshall) Bell of Rock Island; two brothers-in-law, Shawn Clark of Davenport, Iowa, and Troy Tillis of Stockton; grandparents, Jack and LaVonne Tillis of Pearl City and Alene Simons of DeWitt, Iowa; two nephews, David Lancaster and Ian Bell.
