George Lynwood Minor, age 83 of Decatur, GA died at Embracing Hospice on Wednesday, September 27, 2006. Born July 28, 1923 in Gwinnett County, GA. Lynwood was the son of George Sidney Minor and Delia Wilson Baker Minor. He was an active member of Briarlake Baptist Church and sang in the choir. After graduating high school he joined the United States Army and served four European campaigns as a sergeant during WWll. After the military he joined the City of Atlanta Police Department and retired there as part of the Identification Bureau. He then worked for Fulton National Bank in the Credit Card Security department investigating stolen credit cards. Lynwood loved bowling and photography and the Atlanta Braves. He was preceded in death by his wife Francis Drake Minor; fives sisters; Ruth Baker Camp, Lucy Baker Doggendorf, Mary Minor Harrison, Kathleen Minor Eaton, Daisy Lavella Minor, one brother Sidney Wayne Minor. Surviving sister Hazel Dean Minor. Stepdaughters, Karen and Cathie. Funeral services September 30, 2006 A.S. Turner & Sons, Decatur, GA
