Myrtle Bell Fields was born May 16, 1879 to Samuel Igo & Caroline Belvadore Fields. She had 2 brothers, Tom & Cyrus (who died when he was 7 months old) and 4 sisters, 2 older-Susie (who died at age 16) and Magena "Maggie" (who died at age 12, and 2 younger-Priscilla "Zella" and Ica Cora. She had a half sister Minnie. Her mom & dad also raised Betty Elizabeth Phillips.
Myrtle attended her first school when 11 or 12 years old at Maysville, Arkansas-she stayed with her Aunt Sophronia while there. She then attended a Cherokee School across Beatties Creek in church house. Her mother & children-Myrtle, Tom, Zella, & Cora moved to Bentonville, Arkansas the year of strip payment (about 15 Years) so the children could go to school. Rented house-lived in 2 different houses in Bentonville. They moved back to the homeplace from Bentonville in 1874 or 1875.
Moses W. Bryant & Delilah (Plymell) Bryant lived in Bethany, Missouri-where Willard Silas Bryant was born January 28, 1873, they moved from there to Elm or Elam Springs, Arkansas (close to the Sterl & Minnie Thompson place) in 1880. From there they moved to Southwest City, Missouri and from there to Samuel Igo Fields place in 1874 or 1875. They lived in one of the tennant houses between Beatties Creek & Spavinaw.
Myrtle Bell Fields married Willard Silas Bryant on June 8, 1897 by Judge Ward at his home. They lived with Willard's folks from June until fall. In the fall Moses & Delilah took their daughter Myrtle Higgenbotthem's (who died in childbirth) baby back to North Missouri for a visit. While on the visit Moses & the baby died. Delilah came back & lived with Willard & Myrtle Bryant. In 1900 they moved to the farm 4 Mi. S.W. of Centralia, Oklahoma. Moved _____ into Centralia, Oklahoma and on April 4, 1941 Willard Silas Bryant died. Myrtle lived there in Centralia until Febuary 22, 1947 when she sold out and moved to Vinita, Oklahoma. She lived at 330 S. Miller in Vinita until she sold out and moved to Miami, Oklahoma where she lived at 324 C.St. N.E. She went into a Miami Nursing Home at age 92 where she lived until her death June 13, 1974. Myrtle Bell (Fields) Bryant was 95 Years old at the time of her death.
