Thomas Andrews was a pioneer to Holmes County, Fla. He came to Holmes County between 1840 and 1850 with his 2nd wife Mary (LNU)and 11 children. Some of his most famous descendants were U.S. Senator Charles Oscar Andrews, Dana Andrews and William "Steve" Forrest Andrews. His descendants have been pillars of the communities they have settled in. Some lawyers, bankers,elected county and state officials, but all living and raising good solid U.S. Citizens.

The inscription on the grave marker reads T Andrews Born in Burke County, Georgia, 1795 Died June 14, 1858 I have fought a good fight And have kept the faith.
