Medical Pioneer, Educator. Studied at the then Gonvile Hall, Cambridge, before continuing to study medicine at Padua. Became a celebrated, and wealthy, doctor, and enndowed his old college, which was thenceforth (and still is) known as Gonville and Caius, and to which he was appointed as Master.
