Professional Golfer. He gained acclaim as winner of the 1967 Masters Tournament and appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated that year. During the course of his career, Brewer would win 11 tournaments on the PGA Tour, including the 1972 Canadian Open. He was inducted into the Kentucky Athletic Hall of Fame in 2000.
