Additional information provided by Allen Ellyson, 8/16/2012 - "I am the 2X Great Grandson of John W. or R. Ellyson/Ellison/Ellisen and Susan A Brubaker Ellyson Funk. She was briefly married to my 2X Great Grandfather in 1856. He died shortly after that. I have not been able to find out how or why he died. My Great Grandfather John Joseph Ellyson was born in 1857. She then married John Funk in about 1858. Their Children are also Aunts and Uncles of mine. ....... I also have not been able to find John Ellyson's Parents in my search. ........ I have traced Susan back to her Great or 2 or 3x Great Grandfather through find a grave, thanks to people who gave that information on there. My line goes so far. John W or R., John Joseph son of Susan Brubaker and John W. or R. Ellyson, Denney D. Sr. Son of John Joseph and Harriett Atkinson, Denney D. Jr. Son of Denney Deen Sr. and Alma C. Wagner, Allen Deen. son of Denney Deen Jr. and Loretta M. Traina, and my son Jeffrey Allen, son of Allen D. and Mary L. Morrissey."

Susan A. Brubaker was the daughter of Joseph Brubaker and Catherine Harshbarger.

Susan married (1) John R. Ellison on 8 March 1856, in Story County, Iowa, and had one child: John Joseph, born 6 January 1857, in Story County, Iowa. (Iowa, Story County Marriage index and Nevada Community Historical Society Family Tree pages). John R. Ellison died on 16 August 1856 and is buried in the Brubaker Cemetery (AKA Old Maxwell Cemetery, AKA Old Pioneer Cemetery). Susan married (2) John Funk, on 24 July 1859 in Story County (Iowa, Story County Marriage Index) and they had a family of 5 children: Mary C., Harriett Ann (Etta) who married Henry Clay Jones, Daniel Enoch who died at the age of 15, William H. who married Emma May Pike, and Martin S. C. who married Edna M. Streetar.
