OBITUARY

Services for James Arthur Binney, 65, Rt. 2, Brookston, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Kroeger Funeral Home.
He died at 9:46 a.m. Friday at Home Hospital, Lafayette.
Born Feb. 15, 1927, i Logansport, he was the son of Arthur M. and Hariett B. Wells Binney.
He was married July 31, 1948, in Logansport, to Angeline Lombardi, who died March 1, 1978.
Mr. Binney retired as a crane operator in 1981 after 33 1/2 years of employment with Rockwell International.
Mr. Binney was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in World War II. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart, World War II Victory, Good Conduct, American Area, Asiatic-Pacific Area, and Philipine Liberation medals. He served on board the USS Manila Bay and USS Suwannee submarines.
Surviving are one son, James R., Burnettsville; one daughter, Diane Pettiner, Lafayette; three brothers, Thomas, Jerry, and Ronald, all of Logansport; one sister, Myra Jackson, Logansport; two granddaughters, one grandson, and several nieces and nephews.
One sister preceded in death.
Father Leo Haigerty will officiate at the service. Burial will be at Bethel Cemetery.
