Roger James Curtis, 87, of Farmer City died December 31, 1991 at Jackson Hts Nursing Home in Farmer City. Funeral services will be Friday at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home with burial in Maple Grove Cemetery.
He was born February 8, 1904 in Blue Ridge Twp, Piatt County, s/o John Wesley and Mary Elizabeth James Curtis. He married Helen Dafoe on March 12, 1925 in Tuscola. She survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Vera Mabis, Farmer City; and Alma Howland, White Heath; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers: Carl of Las Cruces NM; and Richard of Las Vegas NV; and one sister, Mabel Cook of North Little Rock ARK. He was preceded in death by one son, six brothers and two sisters.
Mr. Curtis owned and operated Curtis Electric Store in Farmer City. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Farmer City and a charter trustee member of the Clark Foundation of Farmer City. He had been past president of the Farmer City Kiwanis Club and the Chamber of Commerce. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jackson Hts Nursing Home in Farmer City.
