An Old Citizen Gone.

Henry M. Hayes died at his residence near Vanderbilt University, yesterday morning about 2 o'clock.
The deceased was born near Nashville, and was the youngest son of Oliver B. Hayes, long a distinguished lawyer, and in his latter years a minister of the Presbyterian Church. His oldest sister is Mrs. Adelicia Cheatham. He was a man of fine presence, thorough education, and cultivated in his tastes. A graduate of the old University of Nashville and of the Lebanon school, he was prepared to take a high position in society.
Soon after his majority he married Miss Mary L. Boyd, and during the remainder of his life lived quietly as a farmer. At the time of his death Mr. Hayes was about fifty years old. He leaves several sons and daughters and a large circle of immediate relatives to mourn his loss.
