French Military Officer. He served as a First Lieutenant in the French military during the Napoleonic Wars, He died in the village in which the Battle of Plancenoit was fought. This was a key strategic point during the Battle of Waterloo as it was the main focal point of the Prussians' successful flank attack on Napoleon's army. The French Army, under the command of Napoleon, was defeated by the British and the Prussian armies. The battle marked the end of the Napoleonic Wars.
