John Kinard born May 4, 1844 in Lower Windsor Twp, York County, Pennsylvania, to George and Elizabeth Smith Kinard. (also spelled Keinard)
John was married to Melinda Fahringer (Farhinger).
He and Malinda had ten children: Emma, Walter, Ellen, Sam, John, Melinda, Ida, George, Frank, and an infant.
They moved to Clark County Missouri in about 1872 and raised their children.

"Kinard
John Kinard was born in Pennsylvania May 4, 1844. In 1865 he was united in marriage to Miss Lenna Foringer(sp). To this union were born ten children, six boys and four girls. Seven of these have passed away, four boys and three girls.
About 1873 he came with his family, settling in Clark county, Mo., where he continuously resided until his death, Oct. 4, 1916.
He is survived by his wife, two sons Walter and Samuel, and one daughter, Mrs. Granville Wilson, also eleven grand children and a host of friends.
Mr. Keinard(sp) has been in poor health most of his life and this has made the burden much heavier on his faithful wife.
The funeral was held Saturday from the Honey Creek church. Rev. Cooney officiating, after which the remains were laid to rest in the cemetery near by. W.M.C."
