British Lawyer and Judge. Sir James Reynolds, Jr sat in the House of Common as a member from Bury St. Edmunds and was Chief Baron of the Exchequer from 1730 to 1738. He entered Lincoln's Inn, which is recognized to be one of the world's most prestigious professional bodies of judges and lawyers, and was called to the bar 1712. His most notable case was representing the future King George II when he went against his own father, the reigning King George I, who demanded to choose his grandchildren’s education; he lost the case. His year of death is given as 1738 on his inscription but was actually 1739; the year did not change in January at that time.
